FoF: French Meadow & English Mild

fmbc_logoIt’s that time again. Food on Fridays (FoF) welcomes a new addition to our lineup with the arrival of the French Meadow Bakery & Cafe. According to Minneapolis based food & wine writer Dara Moskowitz Grumdahl, “French Meadow has led, articulated, and demonstrated everything right and good about food in America in the last several decades: championing organics before there really was such a thing; promoting sustainable agriculture; making and serving slow foods; and generally providing a tasty little oasis of thoughtful and healthy living since the dawn of time. Or 1985, more specifically.”

Tonight’s all gluten-free menu includes:

  • Black Bean Chili & Organic Brown Rice with all the fixings (i.e., Cheddar Cheese, Sour Cream, Green Onions, etc.) It can also be made vegan should you so choose.
  • Roasted Rosemary Potato Pizza with Sour Cream, Rosemary Potatoes, Extra Sharp White Cheddar, Chives

Meanwhile, our brewer’s choice tapping for tonight brings us the return of Thom’s English Mild. Subtle, crisp bitterness on the front finishes with a touch of biscuit and nuts on the back. This session style comes in at a low 3.0% ABV and is intended to be a lightly-flavored, easy to drink and malt-accented gluten-free beer.

This weekend’s tap selection:

  • Pyro American Pale Ale
  • Roasted Coffee Ale
  • Fused Cranberry
  • Fused Orange Blossom Honey
  • Thom’s English Mild (Brewer’s Choice)

Cheers!

Newsletter: More States and New Taproom Hours

New Year, New States

Working on our plan for world domination!

Well the holidays are over and our resolutions have begun. We are watching the beer scene continuously explode and keeping up with smiles on our faces. Recipes are being created, tested and scaled and we are actively working towards releasing our next style in cans.

mapThis January, we shipped our first cases of Pyro off to the great states of Iowa and Nebraska. As always, if you know someone who has been wanting some Burning Brothers in these areas, or if you ARE that someone, now is the time to speak out. Let us know where you’d like to see our beer, or better yet, let your retailer know that you want it at their store.

Other states are in the hopper as we navigate the distribution and regulatory environments. As they get added, we’ll keep you all in the loop as to what, where, when and how.

More Taproom Opportunities

The beer industry slows down over the holidays as people turn more to wine and spirits for their family gatherings. This change of pace has afforded us the opportunity to spend some quality time with our pilot brewing system. We have a variety of new styles in the works which we will be test driving in the taproom, including an English Mild, a Black Pepper Porter, an Oatmeal Chocolate Stout, a Dry Stout, an Imperial Porter and a variety of other things.

We have extended our taproom hours to provide more options for you to come in and sample some gluten-free goodness. New taproom hours are as follows:

  • Thursdays 4-9pm (Growlers until 8pm) Happy Hour specials all night
  • Fridays 4-10pm (Food on Fridays)
  • Saturdays 2-10pm
  • Sundays 2-8pm (No growler sales) Sunday Funday discounts for gaming

In addition, we continue to partner with our local culinary experts by offering Food on Fridays (FoF), gluten-free of course. From tacos to brats to stews and everything in between, it’s an awesome way to start the weekend off right. Selection varies from week to week, so check the website to see what is on the docket.

2015-01-22 15.22.45 smallSunday (Funday) is when we encourage everyone to spend some time amongst friends. We’ve acquired a small stockpile of tabletop games and are encouraging people to stop in, have a pint (or two) and reconnect over a game. Happy Hour pricing is in effect for anyone playing a game on Sundays.

Lastly, a reminder that brewhouse tours happen on the first Saturday of each month at 4pm. First come, first served. Limit of 20.

As always, if you have specific questions, drop us a note via Email, Facebook, Pony Express, Twitter or Google+.

Cheers,
Burning Brothers

But I digress… you probably want to talk about beer… and food… and the fact that it’s Friday…

This session style comes in at a low 3.0% ABV and is intended to be a lightly-flavored, easy to drink and malt-accented gluten-free beer.
